The best hotels in Munich for your next Bavarian city break

Another historic Munich hotel is Sofitel’s Bayerpost, set in the former Bavarian Royal Post Office. The neoclassical façade is perfectly preserved, but inside you’ll find a far more modern affair. The design has a French flavour, as a nod to the brand’s origins, and you’ll be able to indulge in more Gallic delights at the hotel’s Délice La Brasserie, with classics such as onion soup, escargots and croque monsieur on the menu. As a curveball though, it’s the Schwarz & Weiz restaurant that’s thought to serve some of the best croissants in Munich.

The spa is currently closed, but once it reopens in June, guests will be able to enjoy its heated spiral pool, infrared cabin, Kneipp basin and tiled relaxation room, after a Cinq Mondes or Sothys treatment.
